RM TechOne
Connector

RM TechOne Connector allows clients to use Micro Focus Content Manager (MF CM) as the authoritative source for records created in, and accessed from, their corporate Technology One application.Technology One then becomes the prime application for business users, while MF CM transparently captures and applies records management policies.

RM TechOne Connector reduces the risk, cost and maintenance effort in integrating Technology One to MF CM. Technology One and MF CM become ‘loosely coupled’ via the RM TechOne Connector middleware, which not only transparently captures and allows access to records, it protects the clients investment by allowing both Technology One and MF CM to be easily upgraded without major re-integration costs. Additional metadata, or even applications, can be flexibly added over time, thus avoiding further integration costs.

RM TechOne Connector works by passing information to MF CM from Technology One to store appropriate artefacts and metadata. Metadata is captured at the both the container level and the document level. A presentation layer component provides the end users with access to the relevant MF CM records within Technology One, including the capability to upload new documents. RM Connector can also be set up to automatically push existing documents into MF CM using http requests from Technology One.

A successful integration is in production at Hutt City Council in NZ. RM TechOne Connector integrates Hutt’sTechnology One – Property and Rating (P&R) with MF CM to compliance manage building consents and other application processes. The integration to MF CM allows documents to be created through P&R and transferred to MF CM for management as records. A link is made available within TechnologyOne to allow users to open MF CM to access folders or documents in context of the TechnologyOne business process.

Please note that the RM TechOne Connector operates across all modules of Technology One, not just the P&R module.

Other functions of RM TechOne Connector are:

  • New properties or applications created in Technology One have the corresponding container created within MF CM.
  • Fields in MF CM are populated with the corresponding data from Technology One.
  • New documents created in Technology One are saved into the appropriate container in MF CM based on the Application of which it forms a part. Automatic records compliance by capturing or creating records in the context of the business process.
